Hi im trying to backup the 2nd movie in the series called."ALIENS" The movie is like I think 8.0 gb. When I run it through shrink the quality bar is at 48%. So im thinking bout intervideo dvdccopy 2. DO you guys believe intervideo could get a good job out of this or should I go with rebuilder. Also is there really a diffrence between Quenc vs. cce>

Thanks alot

That is a LOT of compression. I doubt that any differences between the two would help much. I assume you want to keep everything (menus, extras, etc.) Personally, I would do "movie only." 80% has been my max. You should opt for a DL for this one (or you could try setting really high compression for all the extra crap and see how much quality you gain for the main movie). "Main movie only" or DL is probably your best bet, though.

Too expensive! Why not just split the original disk over two DVD single layer media with CloneDVD2 or other program. If you buy a DVD changer, there is very little inconvenience when watching the backup and you have backed up the entire original with zero compression.

Best regards,

Good advice from everyone. If you decide to compress it to one dvd5 your best alternative is always going to be DVD-RB/CCE. Quenc is not as good as CCE but is better than most other transcoders/encoders. DVD-RB Pro installer also has HC encoder which is better than Quenc. With DVD-RB Pro you can select movie only (no menus or extras), movie and menu only (blank extras), movie, menu, and slideshow extras, or don't check anything to encode the entire folder.
