ok so i have a computer, i boutgh a brand new motherboard, but it didn't come with an onboard output for video, so i had to buy a video card, the mother board is capable for a pentium 4, 3ghz with HT. i have a 1.5ghz pentium 4, that i had on a previous comp that bit the dust. ok so the problem is that when the video card is attached the computer turns on but doesn't boot, but when i take it off i can hear it boot and everything, i need to be able to have video so i can install windows into a new hard drive that i have for it basically everything is new for the comp, the case, the cd-rom drive, the memory, the hard drive, the video card. the only old thing is the processor. so i really want to get this thing done with my comp, or i'm just gonna give up, and try to use the hard drive on my xbox instead. so if anyone could help, i'd be really grateful.

I had that same problem make sure that your video is compaitable with your motherboard, some videocard support only 4x, 8x or both 4x/8x (AGP)

what is the make & model# of the videocard & motherboard so can check on the info on them?

I had the same problem. Make sure the video card has access to power from your PSU(is connected). Otherwise the fan on it will spin but you won't see any video.

depends on the videocard as to whether it needs power connector or not.
