edit- YAY, they have a changelog this time - not a great deal for me in here personally, so may wait a while and let others be the guinea pigs :)

I have been searching the forum topics as I am going to be installing the update 6.6.0.18 over top of my newly purchased, sealed Nero Ultra 6 that I found at a computer store that does liquidations.
I understand in this forum that garmoon mentions that there are 2 update packages for 6.6.0.18 and I wanted to confirm that the Links that are in this forum by this member are what I have to do.
Also, I guess after I install Ultra 6 I should use the Nero Clean Tool and then d/l these 2 packages if they are the correct ones??
I hope that someone will kindly reply to this as I want to do this as soon as possible and don't want to make an error.
Thankyou.

Since no one replied to your question about my version links to Nero 18, then start your own thread and ask for the links to Nero 66018. I would not think you had uninstall the version you put on first if it is an earlier version. Ask that question also.

Thx everyone, I really appreciate your team efforts here!!!
I know always that I can get a reply and that the remarks are not sarcastic as I have experienced in other forums.
I now have this Nero version installed, but have not tried it yet. No time at the present, but will soon give it a go.
Just one last blurb, when do you think that I should have to update to version 7???
I have seen so many mixed reviews I simply wanted to stay where I am now with this version of the Ultra 6, however know that I will have to update at sometime, but being a Noob don't know how or when to figure that one out???
I know that each version has added features, but never know if I have to run out and buy it or wait til the version that I am using simply is not performing like I want it too???
I would appreciate comments, thankyou

Once you get Nero6.6.0.18 running correctly. Stick with it. It will do what you need done. Nero7 will do a little better with DL discs, but you won't use Nero (any version) to do DLs; that's for ImgBurn. Nero .18 may be Nero's best effort including 7. Nero 7 has so many bugs and versions I don't know which one is stable but there is a stable version. I know creaky is still using it(.18) and has no plans to upgrade. I know I won't be upgrading until .18 stops working. DO NOT upgrade to 6.6.1.4 it breaks the auto burn with Shrink. Try .18 out and post back your results. Happy burning

indeed; for me personally i'm not ever budging unless i buy new burners that aren't supported in 6.6.0.18. Eventually i hope to do all this dvd stuff in Linux anyway (can burn cd's and dvd's fine in Linux already, it's just the dvd ripping stuff i haven't looked at yet). All depends what you want out of Nero really...

Thx for the great replies, this forum is simply the best for experienced info.
The burners that I have are the BenQ external EW 162I, external BenQ 164B, and Sony external DRX 810 UL.
I still understand the latter to be the same as the BenQ 164B.
Will all of these be Nero 6.6.6.18 compatible???
I have not tried them all out yet on their respective notebooks and this version of Nero.

I can't speak for those burners but I would think Nero would recognize them. It has no trouble with my Benq1650s or LG 2166D.
