The rest of it backed up as normal, but disc 7 is really being a pain in the @ss. CloneDVD stops at 77% every time with an error. (There is not a mark on the disc at all, it is brand new, and I have the latest CloneDVD and AnyDVD). Tried DVDShrink, and it wont make it smaller than 5.2GB for some reason. Even dropped the entire disc to my drive (DVDDecryptor) and tried mounting it and doing it that way, but still no dice. Has anyone managed to get this disc to copy? If so, what programs/steps did you take? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Using Shrink, did you get rid of any foreign language tracks....or any unneeded special features? That may get you below the threshhold. Or you could reauthor and split it into 2 discs. Not a Star Trek fan so I don't have any of these to try.....

Even if I eliminate ALL audio tracks, and special features it still displays bigger than a DVD5 size. It has some nifty new copy protection on it. Figured a new version of AnyDVD would fix it, but it didnt. (4.5.1.1) Got it to my drive as a DVD9 (with DVDDecryptor), going to try playing with it some more like that, but CloneDVD and Shrink still act the same with the image as they did with the disc.

this may sound crazy but I had that problem once and fixed it by ripping with my burner instead of my ROM drive.

As I said, its a new copy protection scheme. The only way I can get it to backup is by eliminating ALL extra's and menu's. If you go into the top option in CloneDVD, then you can select the two 45 minute tracks, and ONLY those. If anyone can figure out a way to get the Menu/Extra's that would be great.

It is NOT a "new copy protection scheme" as you call it. The file is just too big to shrink with all the extras, menus, etc.

You'll have to re-author main movie only. That's the best advice I can give w/o actually seeing the disc.

You can put the extras on a seperate disc as well.

You can keep the menus by doing entire disc, but inserting still pics for all the extras.

I think akyllonen is right, it's not copy protection.
