My older dvd rw drive has stopped reading discs of all types, dvds, cds, originals and backups. I have also tried to run this drive as a single drive but still have the same problem. Its definately not a problem of my pc recognizing the drive, just the drive reading the discs. The only thing i can come to a conclusion of is that the lense is dirty and or has gone bad. I would like to try cleaning it first if possible before i trash it. Any feedback is appreciated.
