I have a 2 year old Sony Vaio Notebook with a DW-U50A DVD drive. I recently tried to back up some files to a DVD-R, and after it burned I attempted to re-insert the DVD to verify that everything had burned correctly. When autoplay began, the computer froze, and minutes later, shut itself down. This now happens anytime I put ANY KIND of DVD in the drive - a backup I've created or a retail DVD movie. What is going on????? I've updated the firmware, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, restored my system to an earlier time.... all in vain. Any brilliant computer minds out there?
