DVD-R Not recognized in drive - unfinalized????

Hi

I have just got a dvd-r disc with data on it, but when i put it into dvd+/-r drive, it simply says 'no disc in drive' i therefore cant access what is on the disc!

Some say it may not be finalized, but if so, then how can i finalize this if this is the problem?

Are there any other suggestions?

can you put it back in your burning software and select finalise or close disc or something. most standalone players can't deal with non-finalised discs

If you have Nero, just pretend you're burning a new disc but unclick the 'Write' box. Check off the box that says 'Finalize'.
