hey yall congrats with this vary informative website and forum the first place i look for something technical or help wth my studies, i have a problem with these shaded lines just above the start bar on the screen no major problem just vary distracting and annoying, they are the screen not the vid card coz it does it when attached to other computer towers and it isnt a magnetic problem and does not look like degaussing much help would be appriciated

heh thanks but no that aient it im not a n00b and i have checked those sorts of things my refresh rate is at 75 and resolution is like the 4th bar of 6 neways like i said it isnt the vid card coz wth diffrent screens it dont do it... further input would be apriciated

if doing it with different computers with presuming different videocards than is either the picture tube itself or the monitor circuit board. can either live with it or see what it would cost to fix but keep in mind the price of a new 17" monitor.

heh 4th bar of 6th is just because like all computer nerds or geeks im vary lazy and couldnt be bothered right clicking properties and finding out my resolution as i already know its the screen.. not the vid card ive gotten it repaired before for free coz its still under warenty and it was fixed for a while but it came back... it still under warenty but then i have to ring the guy and wait at my gouse for him the day he is gon come and then i have to stand here and watch him fix it and i have to make idle chit chat with him and its alot of work not really but a bit i figured if there is a way i can do it myself great if not ill wait until it gets unbearable then ill ring up the warenty is like 2 or 5 yrs i cant remember but i know were the piece of paper is... so i can get it but like i said earlyer im lazy well i am today had a hard days work at tafe which is like uni doin a computer engineering course i asked one of my teachers and he said its prob the picture tube two he told me to void the warrenty open it and whack the pic tube i was like nah not doin that, ne other suggestions?

and the res of mamory would be 1024 726 or close to those figures
