Ok, i figured out how to make custom ringtones for my cell. I cut an mp3 to the segment I want and them convert it to "GSM" format with 22050 Hz and 16 bit per sample. It sounds great when I have my ringer volume on medium but if i turn it up more it kind of crackles like its topping out the speaker kind of. Any way to enhance the sound to make it louder? If that made any sense....

THis is kind of a guess, but I think your sound quality may be a little too high, resulting in the sound having lots of audio frequences that the phone will not like when loud.

I find I have the same problem with my V600.

There are actually some programs designed to change MP3's into ringtones. I found one called "Xingtone Ringtone Maker" but it's only a trial and will only let me work with the MP3's it comes with :( So I'm currently looking for a keygen/crack/serial...which is proving difficult to find! I'll let you know if I find one!

I have no clue what your talking about but try www.torrentsearch.us and just search for ringtones. Voila! I'm downloading a couple torrents that add up to about 10,000 ringtones total...

FYI, the cell phone speaker is distoring cause it cant reproduce low freq's. My guide to fix this. Download Audacity. Open the mp3, then using the mouse highlight sections of the mp3 to delete, (slide over song, then delete key) and it will erase that portion of the song. Cell phone speakers are so good reproducing low freq's(20-100) so set a high pass filter in audacity, 1. highlight the 25 seconds of the song, or more(it wont matter over 25 sec, cause the ringer doesnt last that long). 2.Go to Effects-->High pass filter 3. Set filter to 100hz( this will make the ringer appear louder, and less distortion). 4 Press okay. 5. File-->Export as MP3. 6. Save to where ever.

Then download
Razor Lame, you might need to google it, i can send who ever these apps throught email if you need them. So run razor lame. 1. File-->Add files(the mp3 we made erlier with audacity) 2.Edit-->Lame options Set bitrate @ 32 kbit. Then under VBR turn that off, lastly turn the output sampling frequency to 22.05. 4. Encode, and save it to an output folder or w/e. 5. Upload with motokit, MPT, or what ever app u wish to use.

Not sure if any of you are still looking for an easy way to get mp3s to your phone, but I tried out a ringtone maker that was great. My audio had no problems and adjusted well throughout each different volume setting. Go look at www.easyringtonemaker.com, the ringtones are all 1.99 but you can use anything and get it to your phone. It even loops small ringtones so they continue to play if you can't get to your phone in time.

Hope this helps those who are still struggling.

checked out that magix one also. Didn't let me send ringtones to any other phone than my own. Found that new one, Easy Ringtone Maker, and I can send all sorts of funny ringtones to all my friends! Much cooler.
