My lad want"s to put Bit Torrent on his computer with all the legal stuff going on with P2p file sharing people going to court etc i told him No he promised he wont do nothing elegal Hmm im sure you wont my lad.My question is can you be traced like you can with imesh kaza etc ?

Yep.
Everyone can see your IP address so the copyright infringed party will send a lovely letter to your ISP asking for them to take action against you. Or if the're feeling mighty f*** off, ask a court to get your details from the aformentioned ISP and take things further themselves. The chances of this happening of course are v. small but they are still there.
Its strange what your lad wants with bittorrent if its not for the illegal music, films, games etc ;)
