VirtualDub stops during encoding

I am running Divx 5.0.3 video encoder and MPEG3 audio compression.
I can get VirtualDub to start encoding the .avi but when it says it is at the 9995th frame in the information window during encoding, it just stops.
I have tried to encode 3 different files and this is the case each time. This problem always occurs at the 9995th frame.
Any expertise is appreciated.

Apparently this is caused by having multiple mp3 codecs installed. Uninstall them, and install the version you are using in vdub.
