Router configuration tips for D-Link Modems is there a way to open up ports like linksys for D-Link modems i have a modem called
D-Link DSL-302G because i'm experiencing slow speeds with bittorent as well and the other topic didn't help out because i couldn't get to the port changing stage. im running a windows xp service pack 2 my processor is Pentium 4 HT 3.20GHZ 1MB L2 Cache 800 Mhz. 512 Mb of Memory I have a 160 GB Hard drive a ATI Radeon 128MB Video Card and 2 Dual Layer burners Liteon and Lg can anyone help me.

You will have to open the ports within you O/S and then forward them to your router. I have a tutorial that will help you open ports within WinXP. The link is in my sig.

As for forwarding them to your router, go here:http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/...

Just follow that tutorial and it will help you forward those ports for Bit Torrent. ;)

lol finally using portforward.com yay,
and btw a lot of bittorrent trackers block the port 6881 or in that region so try pick an awkward port like 44531
