I have browsed around and it seems there was someone else with similar problems to mine but not quite so I'm posting a new thread. Here it goes:

System info:

-- PC (Amazingly fast, so fast I can't even describe it :P. What I mean is, there is no way it's the Pc's fault.
-- Cable modem by Scientific Atlantic (Webstar 2100)
-- Sometimes I use a Belkin Router (I get different problems from it)
-- Azureus latest version 2.3.0.4
-- 4mb/384kbps connection.

And now to move on with the problem, it's quite simple. I have no port forwarding problems (all green and nat says it's fine). I am now directly connected to the modem via ethernet port and when using http d/l speed reaches 400+ kb/s which is normal, but my Azureus client never reaches more 180-200 kb/s with an average of 100kb/s. This is significantly slower than my old 2Mb BT Broadband connection and should really be FASTER! I have used the TCPIP.SYS patch, I have checked the ports (as mentioned before) and I have disconnected the router and switched off all the firewalls. If anyone could help me that would be great!

Many thanks,

Oprheus

id put i guess at ratios, with a 4mb line it will be impossible to share a decent amount and there are software ratios built into most bittorrent clients. get Netlimiter and set the max upload for Azureus to 2kb/s and see what your download speed goes down to, then pump it back up to 20kb/s and it'll show you an increase, if it does then its ratios that are screwing you....maybe

check all the other default stuff like:

not using a blacklisted port.
no conflicting ports.
that your connection isnt bottlenecking (set upload speed to 75-85% of connection, netlimiter will help)
make sure the torrents are well seeded.

hex64 thanx for all the lovely advise. I have tried both blacklisted and non ports, no conflicts what so ever, connection should be fine (Azureus has a limiter for upload and download and it hangs when you use netlimiter with it) and most of the torrents are well seeded. No as for the ratio crap, I always had a low ratio but could get high speeds from specific sites like unlicenced anime sites for naruto etc. I tried that potatoe thing but seems it didn't work either... I might have missed the full moon don't remember what happened on that day very well (some friends say I turn into a werewolf who knows). If anyone with bluyonder and torrents has the same problem please reply here so I can maybe apply some pressure to telewest about it!

Cheers
