what do you mean unlocking it? do u mean take it out of ur computer?

You used to be able to lock hard drives for when you transported your computer from point A to point B. The last time that I heard that term was in 1992. :)

I don't remember what it did, but maybe it locked the platters so they did not smash on each other. Memory is slippin.

the easiest way to unlock it would be to fdisk it then format it
not so good ?
then try using partition magic
they are crap on customer support tho if you haven't paid for your copy
always BACK YOUR DATA UP before playing with hardrives

i think you have to unlock in the xbox as there is a thread in this forum that pulsar or andmerr posted to telling the poster that the hd has to be in the console to be unlocked
