i've been trying this for days. haven't had problems with a bunch of backups i've done in the past but for some reason, this movie just won't work. i've tried with decrypter, shrink, shrink with anydvd, decrypter with anydvd....keep getting errors. here's the log from the time i tried with decrypter without anydvd....oh, it's the latest version (3.5.4 i think).

You have a bad sector on the disc that decrypter can't rip. Possible causes: dirty, smudged, scratched or a bad press.
Try cleaning the disc and try again. If that doesn't work exchange it for a new one. If decrypter can't rip it nothing can.

thanks binkie, i've tried cleaning...and cleaning....and cleaning, uninstalling my software, reinstalling, installing different versions...must be a bad press. i kind of assumed that after trying everything else but i didn't know what the stuff in the log was. thought maybe there was a setting i had wrong. anyway thanks.

No problem!
Here was the error that usually means a problem with the disc:
