I want to make a bootable recovery disc of my HD (about 2.5gb worth of programs + files) on a dvd. Ive tried using Nero (BackItup) w/my dvd burner but I cant get it to boot or do anything for that matter, it keeps going on about NRestore or something..??? I dont want to waste any more of my DVD-Rs screwing around on my own so if anyone could tell me wat Im doing wrong, a specific walk-through would be nice :), or wat other programs i should use that would be greatly appreciated. thanx

I've made working bootable DVDs with Nero easily (but unfortunately I do not have Nero installed on this PC). Have you tried using a DVDRW instead of burning R's only?

Also, remember to enter the BIOS and select as first bootable option your DVD in order to become active and skip the HD!

"Have you tried using a DVDRW instead of burning R's only?", that would be a good idea, lol, ive been wanting to get some just havent gotten around to it, initially i didnt forsee this as being all that difficult... Also what exactly did u do in Nero to make them, there are various ways i think. "enter the BIOS and select as first bootable option your DVD in order to become active and skip the HD"...shouldnt it recognise the bootable disc in the dvd-rom and automaticly and boot from it like an install disc?? thanx

Iv had problems with Nero HD Backup so I got a copy of Nortons Ghost and use that. Works great.
