I sent the following email 3 times to zycomputing and they ignor my question so I am asking here if anybody can assist me.
I purchased dvdsanta I really like it but I have a portable
DVD player and when I play a video slide on it not always but sometimes I receive a message that says no disk. I did a lot of trial & error and I believe it stems from the feature that dvdsanta creates a empty folder called audio_ts and my player gets hung up on this empty folder. Since this is a DVD+R I cannot delete or rename the folder. The one way I found to get around it is to copy the video_ts to my desktop & burn a new one then everything works ok but this is a lot of extra work. Thanking all Jim Johnston

I don't know how DVDSanta works, not having the program, but if it's like most copy programs it reads the disk to the hard drive, asks for a blank disk, then writes the files back to the blank disk. If this is how your program works, the solution is simple.

When it asks for a blank disk, let it wait. Instead, find the file it wrote to your Hard Drive and Delete the AUDIO_TS Folder - After you have done that, go back to the screen that is asking for the disk, put your blank disk in the DVD Burner drive and THEN let it write the VIDEO_TS folder to the blank DVD.

That should solve your problem.

Thank you smsmike for your prompt reply. I was sure you hit the nail on the head but I am sorry to say that I followed your suggestion 3 times and each time the empty audio folder was there. dvdsanta copies it to c: tempdvd file. Before I placed the disk in I deleted the audio folder & placed the disk in & when I looked at the final the empty audio folder was there. The last 2 times I made I even went to the tempdvd folder before I started & deleted every thing & then after it had copied the dvd I went back & deleted the audio folder Jim Johnston

all ripper programs create a video and audio folder the audio folder has nothing to cause an error message the audio folder is not empty it has all the audio info of the dvd if your player gets hung up it may be caused by many reasons like bad media or it may be your dvd player

Ya .... If you browse any dvd ... you will find 2 folders VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS. This is not your problem ..... david66 hit it on the head .... Media problem ..... this is where your problem lies .....

couple of questions .....

1 what type of Dvd are you using .... ie brand name ?

2 what type of media is compatable with you portable Dvd Player ..... check with the company website or your user guide if you still have it .... ie DVD -R ... DVD +R ?

3 what program are you using to burn them with .... ie ... DVD Shrink?

4 have you tried to set you program to Book Type your DVD +R disk to DVD ROM ? This will impriove compatabillity greatly.

To really be able to help you wee need info ....

As we, who have been doing copy work for a few years know, some players will hang up when they encounter an empty AUDIO_TS folder. Some older players will hang up if that file is missing. It's a hit or miss game until you find the proper feeding habits for your player.

My final suggestion: If you have a program (such as Nero) that will burn the VIDEO_TS folder to a disk, don't let Videosanta write the final file. Instead, when you get to the point that it is ready for a burn, go into the HD, re-name the tempdvd folder (so it won't get deleted) close Videosanta. After that, burn the VIDEO_TS Folder with another program, such as Nero.

That will work, and you will be sure to NOT have the unwanted folder on your disk. Just keep in mind that some older DVD players NEED that AUDIO_TS folder to be present, so the final disk may not work in all players.
