ok...... been burning Movies with verious programs, but mostly I burn Taiyo Yuden DVD+Rs at 4x with DVDFab Express........ I burn so many movies that I hardly have time to watch them, except for the weekends. So this weekend I watched Mission Impossible and it played great..... quality fine and audio was great on my Surround! But I wanted to pause the movie to view something and I had missed .... so I reversed it to the frame I wanted and when I hit play it went back a chapter!!!! I fast foward it to the frame I wanted and hit play and it went back to the previous chapter again! Now, I can hit and skip chapters but the forward and reverse wont' play properly! why is that? I got the best media, burned at 4x, the movie plays fine from the beginning to the end but it won't play properly after hitting the fast forward or reverse buttons! just plays from the previous chapter! So far I only noticed this with Mission Impossible.....which was recorded this past Thursday. As far as I know all my other moives play fine and the fast foward and reverse have no problems! Does anyone have an answer to this one?
I sometimes get the same problem when using DVDSanta to transcode. Try press fast forward or backward, then hit 'pause' when you get to where you like before hitting 'play'.
believe me..... I've tried everything....... it plays fine if I just hit pause and then play! but if I use fast foward or reverse it ALWAYS goes back to previous chapter! I tried fast foward and pause, then play and it goes back to previous chapter! I did the same with reverse! the disk is pristine.... not dirty or scratch or anything! it's new. I just don't understand it. And it's just this movie. But if that's the worse thing that happens..... so be it..... it does play fine IF YOU DON'T FAST FORWARD OR REVESE! HAAHHAHAHA soooooo what ever!
I won't burn it again..... I can live with this kind of prob, so long as the movie plays nicely! I just wanted to know WHY this could happen? Is it somethign in the moive itself that made this happen? I can't imagine that it was something with the disk.. Taiyo Yuden are the best, just my 2 cents!
I don't have that problem with RB/CCE and verbatum dvd+r's booktyped dvd-rom. Could be too much compression causing the problem. Could be a compatability problem (not bad enough to show up during normal play).
