Looks like an extra $10 bucks for SATA.
You can't go wrong with any of these drives mariusz03.
Are you in USA? These prices are Canadian.

I have narrowed my search to these hard drives and I am stuck. Which one is better
DiamondMax 10 6L300S0 300GB Hard Drive (Serial ATA-150, 7,200 RPM, 16MB) or
Caviar SE16 250GB Hard Drive (Serial ATA II, 7,200RPM, 16MB)
I am looking for a hard drive for storing movies ,music, dvds and multimedia in general. I also burn a lot of dvds and need a hard drive that can multitask.

do you have sata on your motherboard to handle 1 of these drives. it's the cpu that does multi-tasking not the hd.

I need to get a new hard drive too. I need ide, not sata. I was shootin 4 120 2 160. Does the cache size really make that much of difference? I have heard good and bad 4 both the wd and maxtors. What about seagate? Thanx.

I can't recommend either drive on experience, but owning both WD and maxtor drives, and having both makes go fawlty, I have found both companies very easy to deal with on returns and can recommend both on that side of things.

i've had no problem with seagate & the amount of cache does help the hd run smoother & faster.
