I never had much need for doing scans of my disks as they almost always worked for me. I recently backed up a disk for my Girlfriend and it freezes in her dvd player ..... never happened befor. I did a scan of the disk .... see below ..... What do these scan results mean .....?

The red line is drive speed .... I know this

The green line ...?

The Yellow Line .... ?

Thanks for your help.

A DVD has two levels of error correction. Any errors that make it through the first level are reported as PI Errors and any that make it past the second level are reported as PI Failures. PI Failures are what your DVD playback device will potentially have to correct to achieve perfect DVD Video playback or Data transfer at high speeds. You can go to cdrinfo.com to compare drives quality. Looking at your disk scanes, I don't see a problem I've seen lower and much higher. Typically slowing the burn down creats less errors. I noticed your burning on dvd -R. You may want to try +R. Most settop dvd players will play one better than the other. If you can change your book type to dvd-ram it is a more compatible format for settop dvd players. For a cheap dvd player I like Apex, they seem to play anyting you put in them,-R,+R. For example my xbox(First genration) does not like +R but will play -R just fine.

Good Luck
