I'm kinda a newb so bare with me.

I have DVD2one, DVDdecrypter and a burning software. Could someone tell me what comes first? Do decrypt, rip, then burn. Do I really need all these programs or do some do multiple tasks. Are these the best or is there something else I should get instead. And lastly I can't seem to get force ASPI to install. I've downloaded it but can't install.

DVD Decryptor decryptes and rips at the same time to your hard drive. once its on your hard drive use DVD2ONE, DVD Shrink, Nero Recode2, DVDFab all programs that compress the dvd to fit a DVD5 disc. Then burrning software. Nero, DVD Decryptor etc etc on programs that burn

So DVD Decrypter burns too? And do you reccomend any DVD+RW. I heard that disc from Japan work best and last longer.

And what about the Japan disc thing. I was gonna use verbatim but I heard that they switched to a crappier magnet thing. My friend said not to use apple DVD either because they outsource to some shitty brand.

Verbatum is made in taiwan and is one of the best media manufactures you can get. For all other brands look for made in japan on the label or wrapper.

that made me laugh...yes, you are probably referring to Verbatim using CMC MAG or CMC Magnetics Corp. in the past and people having some major issues with crappy media...but, for the most part now, at least in the 8x dvd-r/dvd+r, MOST of Verbatims discs are produced in taiwan, but utilize the MCC coding and AZO dye, which is very good stuff.

you should be fine in buying the "made in taiwan" Verbatim discs...i prefer the DVD+R myself...and my MCC003 (8x dvd+r) and MCC004 (16x dvd+r) both made in taiwan are great~ :)

Recommended Media:

Taiyo Yuden 4x dvd-r TYGO1/ 8x dvd-r TYGO2/ 8x dvd+r YUDEN000T02/ 16x dvd+r YUDEN000T03
Verbatim 8x dvd+r MCC003
Verbatim dvd+r DL (MKM001)= flawless no compression backups

GlueEater, I personally use Taiyo Yuden's 4x - R's 01's and 8x (though burn at 4x) Ty's 02's, and I prefer Verbatims. BB has Verbs (1x-4x) on sale 25 for $9.00. They look strange and not a lot of writing space but they identify as MCC and made in Japan. I have burn several in a couple days and they are play flawlessly. Check them out.
