I need to choose between those cards, so I can get the best card for my bucks Im limited to at least 415 dolars but if the performance difference is not much but the $$$$ I prefer saving 50 bucks over 14% performance so help me to choose Ati an Nvidia Fans come and tell me whos best! lol thanx

I've recently chosen Nvidia over ATI. Purely from a ease of use point of view and that Nvidia seem to be the first out with new techonology while ATI a re playing catch up. This doesn't mean that they are any cheaper but until recently I had a BFG 6800 Ultra which is an awesome card for the money. A friend has the X850 (the top ATI card) and it's pretty quick as well. Personally I would go for the Nvidia 6800 based on my experiences with them, they are easliy overclockable with no other hardware needed and run games like HL2 and Doom 3 with ease. Of course this is just my opinion.
My rig: Intel Q9650 3.0Ghz, ATI Radeon 4870 X2 2048Mb, 6Mb DDR2 6400 RAM, Asus Rampage Formula X48 Motherboard.

Yep the 6800 Ultra. Personal experience, it's either ATI doesn't like me or it's me that doesn't like ATI.

Well isint any ati fans here???lol Im thinking about ati but now that you say...another question my LCD only has analog VGA imput, how Im going to connect it to the 6800ultra if the ultra only has DVI outputs!! while the ati does have Vga analog Output?!?!?!

for 410.00 you should pick up this bfg 7800gt it is faster than any card you mentioned, and wil be a hell of alot more future proof than the rest, you have the perfect budget for a video card, why not spend it on one that will have a lifetime warranty and will last for 2 to 3 years?
edit the video card will come with 2 dvi to vga adapters, so your lcd will be fine.

The problem is that my MOBO does not support PCI-E only agp8x, so that is not an option...still I think I may go with the Nvidia Ive heard very creepy stories about cataclyst drivers (ahh!!!) and the little mermaid on the card is cool!! still I wanna hear opinions on ATI fans!!!

X850 whatever it is, is the fastest AGP card out there & o.c quite nicely, the only real difference between Nvidia & ATI is driver surport in that Nvidia's is much better .... some games play better with Nvidia & some better with ATI, personally i would go for Nvidia due to driver surport & lack of horror stories ..... go for the GT, if you can get one go for the Gainward 6800GT goes like hell model it's clocked faster than an ultra and has some real nice cooling on it .....
