What are your network settings for both your XBOX and PC.
I only need the setting for the LAN connection that the XOBX is plugging into on your PC...if you only have one then that's fine.

Xbox
use static ip=yes
ip=192.168.0.3
subnet mask=255.255.255.0
default gateway=192.168.0.1
dns=0.0.0.0
dns=0.0.0.0
PC
dhcp enagbles=no
ip=192.168.2.2
subnet mask=255.255.255.0
default gateway=192.168.0.1
Dns=192.168.0.1
192.168.0.2

hi all,
i just got my xbox chipped and i am having trouble doing this ftp thing. when i connect my xbox to the computer via crossover cable, it say 'limited connectivity or no connectivity'. is this the network's problem or the xbox?

O.k.
The easiest way I can explain it is this:
Think of your Gateway as the starting point for your IP range.
For example, my Gateway in my setup (router) is 192.168.1.1
My PC's Static IP is 192.168.1.100
2nd PC: 192.168.1.110
3RD pc: 192.168.1.120
XBOX: 192.168.1.200
Now as you can see the first three number sets are identical throughout, in sync with the routers Gateway. Easy right.
Now for you...use the same technique.
Your Gateway is 192.168.0.1
So make your PC 192.168.0.10
and your PC...192.168.0.20
No it doesn't have to be .10 or .20...it's just an example.
Make sure that if you have dual LAN capability on your PC or you are using a different LAN connection (NIc card) added to your PC that it is that connection on your PC which has been made static. The one that connects you to the internet is irrelevant...only the one connecting directly to your XBOX.

My guess is that 9.9 times out of 10 you don't have static IPs assigned to both your PC connection being directly connected to your XBOX and/or the XBOX itself does not a static ip assigned to it.
Follow the steps I gave a few posts up for that process and you should be fine.

I tried FlashFXP for ages and couldnt get it to work. C-xbox worked straight away. It's awsome!

i have one question about the static ip's. Does the xbox and the pc must have the same static ip's in order to ftp. this is probably a stupid question but i seriously don't know this sort of stuff. Please help me.

NO. Static IPs MUST be different if the devices on the network or involved in the direct connection are both being used at the same time. In your situation, that applies. So change the last three digits of one of your Static IPs and all should be good. If you don't, you'll probably get a low connection message in the bottom right of your screen.
Scroll up, a couple of my post give examples. Hope that helps.

HEY tEChniiQue I HAVE A QUESTIONS I SOFTMOD MY XBOX AND EVERYTHING BUT I WAS GOING TO MAKE MY OWN HALO 2 MODS AND IN ORDER TO DO THAT I NEEDED MORE SPACE ON MY HARD DRIVE SO I FORMATED THE E AND F DRIVE AND THEN I HAD ALOT OF ROOM BUT WHEN I TURN OFF MY XBOX IT WOULDN'T LOAD A DASH BOARD
I WAS WONDERING IF THERE WAS SOME WAY I COULD MAKE A BOOTABLE DISK THAT I COULD LOAD ON MY XBOX TO GET UNLEASH X BACK AND RUNNING
EXCEPT FOR HOTSWAPPING I NEED HELP PLZ:(

Simple fix...rerun the softmod. You can enable about an extra 2GB of space.

I DON'T THINK YOU KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT RIGHT WHEN I TURN MY XBOX ON IT DOESN'T LOAD A DASHBOARD BUT WHEN I PUT A GAME IN AND THEN TURN IT ON IT DOES WORK

LOOK AT THE PIC THAT IS ALL IT DOES AND WITH THE MICROSOFT DOWN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN IT STILL PLAYS GAMES IF I TURN IT OFF WITH THE GAME INSIDE AND I GOES TO THE PICK AGAIN BUT 7 SECONDS LATER IT LOADS UP THE GAME. sO THERE IS NO WAY I CAN FTP TO THE XBOX BECAUSE THERE IS NO DASH IT JUST STOPS AT THE SPOT AND DOESN'T MOVE IF THERE IS NO GAME.

Also my xbox is modded but i can't get to UNLEASH X i didn't use EVO so now tell me i can't even go oline if i try getting the update it takes me to the screen where it says costumer service 21 on the right hand corner.

I understand exactly what you're saying and have been...somehow, your dashboard or a necessary file from it was deleted. The easiest fix to mod your xbox again.
