put the game in the xbox drive, then FTP it, and go into D i think it is. then copy all of the contents to your computer harddrive. then go into E (or F or G if you unlocked your hardrive(G for if you installed a bigger hardrive)) then go into games or make one if it isn't there, then make a file that says the name of your game, then copy all of your contents from your computer (the stuff we did earlier) and go to your modded dash, and the game should be there. Also you may need to delete some files if you just have the stock hardrive. I put halo 2 on my hardrive and that was all i could fit on there. no saves or anything. in fact i could only fit the multiplayer maps on the xbox hardrive.

I have a problem ftping too, it's just that whenever I enter my xbox's ip address, username and password: xbox, and the port 21, it gives me in SmartFTP, "An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine." and nothing will appear in the box on the top. What should I do? And will I be able to FTP with an error on my xbox up?

The clearest instructions I can find.
http://nexcess.net/hosting/support/tutorials/ftp/ffxpindex.php
I always used WS_FTPpro as it's easier to set up, and deals with all this nonsense automatically.. CuteFTP is easy too.
You can just set up windows to do this as well, but it's a bit hit and miss.

You need to make sure the ethernet cord going to your xbox AND the one going to your pc are outgoing on your router, as if you were wanting to go on xbox live and the internet on your computer at the same time, are you?
that was my problem
hope it helps

How to FTP...MADE EASY!!
_____________________________________________________________________

Part 1: Network Settings for the Xbox (Avalaunch)

If you're using Avalaunch as a Dashboard, this section will show you how to navigate through the dashboard and access settings so they can be changed to fit your needs.
Once your xbox loads the dashboard?

Click Settings ->

Click Network ->

Highlight IP Settings ->
Network Settings and Time Server Settings should be displayed on the right side of the screen

*DHCP: If you need to enable DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol automatically assigns the xbox an IP address, therefore makes your job that much easier) just

look to the right and see if it has already been enabled. This option can only be used if you are connecting to your PC by use of a router. If it has not been enabled, use your

keypad to highlight where it says disabled and press the "A button" to enable it. This method is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED for beginners. Now back out, restart your

xbox, and the settings will have taken effect.

*STATIC: If you prefer to use a Static IP address you should disable DHCP in the xbox settings and input your desired address directly below it. If you are unsure

what to make your Static IP address just use the same one that appeared as the DHCP address or you can make it 5 digits above what your PC's IP address is. For example:
PC IP: 192.168.1.100
XBOX : 192.168.1.105
A Static IP will require other settings that can be found within your PC (Gateway, Subnet, Primary DNS, & Secondary DNS). Some people use the Static IP method regardless;

whether it is an FTP setup via a router or by direct connection.
NOTE: If you are using a direct connection to FTP into your xbox, it must be a Static IP address assigned to both your xbox and the LAN connection on your PC you?re

connecting to. In addition, you must use a crossover cable.

You can get that info by doing the following on your PC.
Click Start ->
Run ->
Type the letters "cmd" without the quotation marks
In simple terms, a black box will appear on your PC's screen.

Without any spaces, type "ipconfig/all" (no quotations either)
Hit enter and all of the info you need will appear below what you've just typed, write it down or do whatever you need to, just input the info required into your dashboard's

settings.

*Avalaunch FTP Settings:

Just below the IP Settings in the Avalaunch Dash are the FTP Settings. Scroll down and highlight that option.

Your settings should mirror the picture above.
Use nonboost FTP Server: Disabled (being enable has caused FTP issues)
FTP Server: Enabled
FTP Port: 21
Max User: 2 (1 is an alternative)
Show Space on Root: Disabled
Filename Clipping: Enabled
Allow Boostmode: Enabled

Mirroring the above settings should optimize your speeds while using FTP Clients, especially Qwix 1.01.
_____________________________________________________________________

Part 2: Network Settings for the Xbox (EvolutionX)

If you're using EvolutionX as a Dashboard, this section will show you how to navigate through the dashboard and access settings so they can be changed to fit your needs.
Once your xbox loads the dashboard?

Scroll down and select System Management ->

System Settings ->

Now you should be able to see the Network settings for EvolutionX. You will need to scroll down on the screen to view all options available.

For the option that is different between Avalaunch and EvolutionX in this section:
Setup Network ------- YES

Once you have the settings you want input into the dashboard, scroll to the bottom of the screen, save, and restart the console for the settings to take effect.

*EvolutionX FTP Settings:

Scroll down the screen and look for the FTP section. (Can be found after BIOS and above Telnet)

Make sure ENABLE has a YES next to it so that you will be able to FTP with this dashboard loaded.

Once you have the settings you want input into the dashboard, scroll to the bottom of the screen, save, and restart the console for the settings to take effect.

If there are any other dashboards out there that you'd like to see or if you have other questions, let us know and we'll see what we can do to help you out.
_____________________________________________________________________

Part 3: Setting up Flash FXP

**Whether you are using Flash FXP or another FTP Client of your preference; make sure it and all other programs have been added to your Firewall's exceptions list. Not doing so can make the difference in a successful connection between your xbox and PC and/or Laptop.** (thank you larrylje for the input)

This section will guide you in setting up a site for your xbox within Flash FXP.

Open Flash FXP ->
Click Sites ->
Site Manager ->
The window below will appear on your screen:

The information required here to set up your xbox as a site to FTP into:

- Site Name: can be whatever you want it to be
- IP Address: Can be found on the main screen of your dashboard. This skin you have will depict its exact location on that screen. 192.168.?.?
- User Name: xbox (default)
- Password: xbox (default)

Once the minimum info has been input, Click apply and Connect and see if your hard work has paid off.

If your attempt is successful, your screen should look like this:

From there you should be able to navigate through your xbox on one side and your PC on the other.

Tips:

* XBOX Remote File Management and ISO Creation Tool Recommendations
- Avalaunch users should use Qwix
- EvolutionX users should use Craxtion
*Flash FXP is a great tool for FTPing and fast
*Cute FTP is also a good and it's FREE
*If you plan on transfering several games to your xbox from your PC or vice verse, I recommend you use an FTP Client like Cute FTP or Flash FXP.
