before you click on the smiley face icon...put a umd in the psp drive...then go to the "green" screen and select the iso you want to play...and press X (or O if you have a Japanese psp)...it's going to bring you back to the main menu of the psp...press up and it should bring you to the UMD icon for the PSP...it should now be playing the Twisted Metal Video...even if you have the umd of nfs in the drive...

Hi,

I have a PSP downgraded to 1.50 and have no problem running my Ridge Racer which has been dumped using fastloader.

However when ripped with a ripkit and re-built using VcdromX and mounted using fastloader or undemulator it gets as far as the "now loading" screen and hangs up.

This is using a EUR copy of the game.

Is there anything I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Hi, I've tried to create an ISO file from my Wipeout UMD. I've used Fastloader v7 to dump the UMD to an iso file. But when I try to load it, it doesn't load at all. It says waiting to initialize. Am I supposed to do something else to that ISO file that fastloader created? Also I cannot open it with WinRAR like the other iso files which leads me to belive that it is not really an ISO file.

@Chulito-- when you make a dump of your game when its dont hook up ur PSP to computer. Go to the ISO folder. In there you should see a FILE, not an ISO file, called My lastest dump. It should load that... you can name it to what ever you want. ex: Wipeout Pure. If you want to see the content of your latest dump you need to add .iso after My latest dump, or Wipeout Pure.

also, if you dont already know, and ISO file is a package of multiple files the are NOT compressed.

In response to EthanDM:
You get them from torrents. You need BitComet and WinRAR. Download a torrent from a torrent site like isohunt.com torrentreactor.net thepiratebay.org, then run the torrent with BitComet and it should start downloading. Then, when downloaded, extract the RAR archive with WinRAR. You should get the ISO. Shove it on your Mem Stk.

I was told to change my sig so I did this.

Oh, one more question if you don't mind. For the rar files that I get off the net that are not is ISO format they are like lfc-nfl2.001...002...003. What program do I need to join those files togeher? I think they are the split files from a while ISO file.

Finally Got It! only psp 1.0 to 1.5 will work. if you have 2.0 downgrade - i did. If you have 2.01 - too bad.
Ok, this is a step by step guide to putting a iso onto your psps memory stick. Using Fast load .7 and over.
First you will need VcdromX which you can download from here http://www.iiscn.com/download.php?id=e1&ver=4.1&url=hjh98
install it so now your computer will recognise iso files.

Then you will need to download an iso/game. you can get these from www.torrentspy.com search: psp and some games should come up. You will need a torrent program such as bitcomet which you can download from www.dowload.com search: bitcomet.

Once you have downloaded the game using the torrent program you probably will have to unzip it. In my case i got burnout. it came in a number of detached files. Use WinRAR to open the first file named 001 and it will join the files together. and show one large file about 500mb for burnout .iso. press extract at the top and choose the desktop.

Once it is done extracting to the desktop you will see and iso file.
in my case it was blpp-dgr.iso you can rename the file as long as you keep the extension (.iso).

You iso is now ready to put on your psps memory stick. you will need a 500+ memory stick to put games on. get fast loader (search in google) v.7 or above. there are three folders on fast loader you should put on the root of you mem stick (not in any folders, outside the main psp folder) ISO, ISOMISC and ISOSPLIT. and two you shold put under PSP/GAME Fastloader and Fastloader%.

Once these are in you only have to put the .iso file in the ISO folder on the mem stick and your ready to play.

Turn your psp off usb mode and make sure you have a UMD in the drive (so your psp is fooled that it is acually playing a real game) ANY umd will work even movies. then go to the game menu under memory stick.
there should be an evil smiley face. press x to enter into it.

There shoud be a blue background and a small window.
it will have your .iso file it will be called watever you named it. to play simply press x and now you should be ready to play!

the other options are to play the umd you have in your psp now or to dump it. dumping is basically copying the umd onto your mem stick in iso form so you can get it onto you comp.

Please if you have any good games please dump them on your mem stick and share them on the net. This is where the games came from in the first place!

Any Questions Please ask,
Peace Out

Man am I dumb. I should've tried this from the beginning. I simply added the .rar extension and WinRAR is able to open it and show me the iso file to extract. I thought if it was a rar file, it wouldn't matter what extension it was and would show me the file anyways.

yes use the PSP_game folder and the UMD data bin file to build an .fcd using VcdRomX. Then convert that to an iso
