Was that using UMDGen?
Yep I've heard of that problem from heaps of people.

Try UMDGen 2.0, I've heard that VCDROMx works good too.

Hmmm. Dont press O to extract. Instead use the X folder from my site. Then just press X.

Also try it untouched with the new DevHook.

Like I said try the game untouched in DevHook.

No I dont think there is anything wrong with your PSP. But there could be something wrong with the ISO.

Just use the default settings:
ISO ANYUMD
2.XX-->2.00
Firmware 2.6

Also go to OTHER-->PRE-LOAD address and set it to 89000000 and if that doesn't work the one with an 8 and e and x (sorry forgot the exact address).

It's not a waste of time, Shazz123. If you need more help, we're all here. DevHook v0.43 is nice. It kinda bums me out tho b/c I liked hacking the games and now I have nothing to hack and tinker with.

But, I think once 2.70 games are released, we might have to figure out a way to get those working on 2.60emu. My thot:

Replace a 2.70 game's PRX files w/ 2.60 PRX files and run w/ 2.60 emu just like we did w/ 2.60 games in 2.50 emu. (I don't think they'll have to be decrypted, either. Just a hypothesis. blah blah.

FACT: I read @ ps2nfo that decrypted PRX files take up more space than encrypted PRX files. I guess encrypting them compresses them also. Some of you may have known that, but I didn't. :)

Yeah because before the new DevHook, I never swapped PRX files. I always decrypted using DecryptPRX, probably becuase I didn't understand why swapping them would work. Actually I still dont. I know why we swapped 2.6 PRXs with 2.5 ones with the old DevHook (as DevHook can decrypt the 2.5 ones during runtime but not the 2.6 ones). But I didn't understand why some people used to say (to get Megaman Powered Up running) swap it's PRXs with the PRXs in DBZ. But aren't both Megaman and DBZ games of the same firmware??

Yeah I think that your "thought" would work.

But I dont even think we would have to do that. I mean dont 2.7 and 2.6 use the same encryption methods and thats why you need a firmware 2.6 PSP to decrypt the 2.7 firmware?

But if we were to try run 2.7 games on the current version of DevHook. We might have to go back to decrypting the EBOOT.BIN like we did in the good old days :)

Anyways, that was just my thought,

I never did that once; decrypting the BOOT.BIN. I tried, but couldn't figure out what the hell it was supposed to do. Esp since author of the app said to decrypt the BOOT.BIN and EBOOT.BIN and then change the names and all that. I was like, WTF? Forget it. Easier methods came along anyway. You've got a point tho w/ 2.60. I'm sure it WOULD decrypt 2.70. Hey, I could've done the whole PSAR data extraction and DevHook v0.43 myself, but I was too excited to play Coast 2 Coast. What's the deal w/ the REBOOTS? How are they made and what do they do. Is it like a modified 2.50 file which reroutes the PSP somehow into making it think it's a 2.60? (That would be where we get the emu, of course) but what's the deal?

You know what's funny? I'll bet delboyuk (kid who started this thread) never meant for this to become the largest thread @ aD.

@guano- I would try decrypt the 2.7 firmware as well. I wonder if it will work with the eLoader + GTA ISO/UMD on the emulated DevHook firmware 2.6. But it might be something to try out. But I have neither the GTA UMD or ISO so I can't try it :(

Man, if it involves using the effing eLoader, I'll pass. Fanjita may be a legend, but eloader sucks *BLEEP*. It messes w/ your FW and acts all jacked up. IDK, but I think ppl are on Fanjita's nut$ too much. I would like to try. I have both the UMD and ISO. Should I give 'er a go?

LOL - I think Booster would crap his pants if someone outta left field got 2.70 working before HE did! I would love to do that! He'd be like, "Well, I was gonna make a new release, a 2.70 emu. Ho Hum. I'll do something else cool then, like playing PSP w/ inverted colours..."

@Guano-

Could you try it please! I really want to see if we can get this working. I dont think it takes that long.

BTW- When you are finished, can you upload it to rapidshare or something so I can try tinkering with it as well?

Yea, I'll get on it now. Don't get all excited tho. I still have to go thru the whole tutorial on how to do the REBOOT thing and how to run thru the DevHook v0.43 set up process as I seemed to have skipped that one.

Tell you what - I have 56k modem connectivity. I won't be able to surf around that much while I'm downloading. Can you get me some sources together? The REBOOT stuff and eLoader links? That would be great! You know I deserve to be spoonfed once in a blue moon!

Going to d/l 2.70 eboot now. Fortunately, I already have PSP Brew.

Peace,
guano

btw, CONGRATS, STANG!!! You don't have to deal w/ the n00bs anymore. Good job...

@ eternalis:

I know what I'm doing when it comes to PSP, but I'm still not the greatest hacker that ever lived. I think if it were this easy, Booster would've already done this. I mean, it's much easier than what he did from 2.50 to 2.60. All you have to do is make a couple more REBOOTS or some $hit, right? There isn't much to it.

Oh yea, btw, I can't do this. I just thought of something:

How the hell will I be able to release this? I can't code. I can't even write an EBOOT. erm... maybe I didn't think about this enough. Plus I'm tired, so I was all, "HELL yea I'll do this!!!" those devs have tools we don't have. Like a way to create the EBOOT in the non-"%" folder. I tried taking one of those apart once and it said file is corrupt. I don't think I can do this. I'm about to say NVM unless you have any ideas. b/c as I had said, I never did the whole DevHook v0.43 set up from scratch, so this all new to me. It's been a few days; if it were possible someone would have done this. :?
