You can't take 1.5 eboots apart. You have to use PSPBrew to convert them to 1.0 format first. So thats why you weren't able to take that EBOOT a part.
Yeah maybe someone could have done this. But why dont you try it anyway. If you dont want to its OK, maybe I can find a decrypted 2.7 dump on the web :)
I was just thinking of replacing the 2.6 firmware files with the 2.7 ones and seeing what happened. But I suppose that wouldn't work :)

NO you're right. I was just thinking that same thing. If you put the 2.70 flash folders in the 2.60 folders, I wouldn't need to create a new EBOOT. The syscalls would look for 2.60 and run 2.70. It WOULD work! And I DO wanna do this! Heh we were thinking along the same lines. However, I think it will be a projeKt for this weekend when I have more time. I can't d/l at work and it sucks working w/ dial up. I think this can be done!

ISO is an disk-image of a game, CSO is a compressed diskimage of the game

Not doing too bad stang, lots of people to help so keeping busy!!!! Had a quick look at XS yesterday after going through jamaal10s sig tut (having my first few attempts with photoshop!!!) and it looks pretty cool, will try to have a proper look when it dies down here (if it ever does!!!). Joined eternalis' site too and getting new members so it's starting to grow so if you wanna offer your services over there would be appreciated, gotta get some more tuts done.

right hate posting as i feel such a noob but iv been on this forum and others for ages and have been messing around with my psp for a week and still cant get it to work properly,
i originally had a 2.5FW and downgraded to 1.5 using downdater etc, and all went ok, i then got fastloader .7, put all the nessecary files in the right places, (fastloader and fasloader% into game the rest into root etc, got a game that should work (dead to rights) used VcdromX, converted the two psp game and umd data to iso, placed into iso file, started psp, loaded fastloader, can see the game (deadtorights.iso) and i click launch and it goes onto background of fastloader 0.7 and nothing happens,
and yea i had umd in drive and no fastloader .8 doesnt work, any ideas?

can someone please help me!!???!!!
i have downgraded my firmware to 1.5
i have installed fastloader 0.7. i have 6 dvds with iso files on in WinRAR format.
i extract them to my desktop then put them in the iso folder on my root of the ms.
when i select them it just says initializing and that its! no games work
am i missing a step or being an idiot?/ i have been trying for t2 weeks now to get it to work and am pulling out my hair!!
please can someone guide me in the right direction!!!!!

Not only that, but you need to deassociate WinRAR with iso's. After that, you should see some results.

cheers am downloadin dev hook now, what you mean by deassociate? as in dont load the isos with WinRAR or?

right i got dev hook, installed it and booted it, it loaded and then almost straight away rebooted and crashed, so i reset and reloaded and now it just upgraded my psp to 2.71?

right im understanding dev hook more now, i load it up, select the right iso, and then click start, the psp shows the whiteish sony screen as if booting something, then goes black and hangs?

What settings are you using?
Try mess around w/ the pre-load addresses to get it working.

Your PSP has not been upgraded, DevHook is just emulating firmware 2.71.
