Memorex. no, no no!. ah well, let's attack your Nero logfile and see what else we can fix - post LAST section of your Nero log, which is in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar

the "rw" is indeed kinda confusing but it's just a logo. As far as I know it's only used on DVD+R and DVD+RW so it doesn't have to do anything with rewritable or not. You better check if your pc's dvd-drive is capable of reading DVD+R or DVD+RW. Had the same with my dvd-player. That one just reads DVD-R and dvd-ram. So you better check the manual of your computer's dvd-player.

Any solution to this? Maybe try to upgrade the firmware of your pc's dvd-drive. If that doesn't help you'll have to get yourself a new dvd-drive for your pc.

The latest version is 6.6.0.16 so you should upgrade to that.

Wow what happen to all your ram! Free up as much memory as possible encoding is pretty cpu intensive.

This means it doesn't like your discs. I think part of your log is missing. I can see where +r is being used but not where nero tried to indentify it. What media are your using? Your firmware is up to date

edited to add: oops realized your using memorex (ugh!) but nero will usually give the manufacturer id in the log so this is missing.

@ledastray -

in addition to binkie7's reply....

- firmware is up to date, so media is either newer than the firmware knows what to do with, or the firmware is 'older than it might be', albeit up to date

- yeah, media isn't being detected correctly

- remove Roxio, it and Nero don't play well together. To fully remove Roxio you'll need to google search for 'roxio zapper'

You're still gonna have problems here as your burner's firmware can't correctly recognise those discs. Download dvd identifier (free) from here - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_id... and use it to identify those discs and paste the info here...

ps some of my Verbatim discs have 'rw' on them, can't remember if it's on the +R or -R discs, it's confusing, but as long as they're -R or +R just ignore it..

In device manager use the uninstall option for your drives then reboot - windows should reset to DMA mode. Here's another guide that should help:
http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=101616
As for your memory - don't multi task while burning. In task manager you can see what apps are running and shut some of them down while you are doing the dvd thing. Between your 2 logs you went from 254 mg free to only 20 mg free so that tells me you were probably doing other things.
As for Memerox they use poor quality manufacturers. The most notable and probably the worst is CMC. Poor quality control, inferior dye etc causes too many burning problems and inconsistencies. Stick with the good stuff like Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim DataLifePlus.
