can some one tell me how to move all of my file from my old hard drive to my new hard drive? if at all posible a guide who also be nice to help me.

ok but ddp would you happen to have a link to the progarm?
also have you ever used this progarm to move files from one harddrive to another one? are there different version of the software and if so which one should i use?

do a search on the net for norton ghost 2003. it is a 1meg file. & yes i have used ghost a # of times to clone 1 hd to another.

ok while we're on this subject on transfering files to another hd, i have 2 hard drives right now, one is 40gb with my os on it, and the other is 20gb with a bunch of movies and songs on it. i was thinking, is there a way to switch them 2, have my os on the 20gb hard drive, and my movies/songs on the 40gb hard drives, or is this not possible?

yes but you'll need partition magic to partition the 40 temperarily so can ghost the 20 onto the 2nd half of the 40. than ghost tha os half onto the 20 & use partition magic to make the data half of the 40 the full size of the hd. another way is using 3 drives, 2 20's & the 40 with just ghost. the 2nd 20 is just temporary

since i only have 2 folders on my 20gb hard drive, could i just cut/paste it into my 40gb harddrive, and then do the same from the 40gb hard drive and paste all the files/folders besides the 2 that came from the 20gb hd, onto the 20 gb hard drive

Yes you could drag and drop the folders. Make sure before you stick the os on the 20 gig...that the speed of the harddrive matches the 40 gig. If not...then its going to slow your comp down considerably if your putting the os on a slow hard drive.
I just worked on a compaq the neighbor had and you should see the differnce in the os speed compared too when it was on a new seagate and a old maxtor....lol
edit..
Your best bet is use your installation disk...set up the 20 gig with your os...then drag and drop all the folders to the 40 gig. Just make sure you gety everything off of the 20 before you format it.

yes & change the jumper on the new 1 if set as slave. what windows do you have, what format is the drive if using win2k/xp??

Acronis True Image has a trial period. I used it for my last HD upgrade,no problems and has an easy interface. One option to Norton Ghost that works well http://www.acronis.com/
