What exactly is the disc (movie) that you can not backup/burn? DVD Decrypter is still the king, that's all I can say. May be it's a bad pressed or dirty somewhere. At what Mode did you used DVD Decrypter to rip? Try the Mode, File F into your hard drive if you failed the Mode, ISO, Read R and see what's the new result now.

If its a new 1 maybe it is 1 that DVD Decryptor cant do since it isnt updated anymore. Try downloading Slysoft AnyDVD trial version which is updated frequnintly and see if it works for it. You just run it in the background.
If not then what alkohol said could be a bad prssed disc.

Maybe it's a Ripguard disc. I don't know if it's out yet, but supposedly it is will stop all ripping through Windows Systems or something like that.

I had a similar problem with a few of my discs. They were a little dirty and my drive wouldn't even detect them. SO I got a new DVD-ROM drive for about $35 and it worked perfectly. I think some discs just are incompatible with some drives.
You may also want to check with your drive's manufacturer's website and make sure that you have the latest firmware upgrades.

DVDDecrypter is still king of the hill! it will rip all the DVDs that are out there...... I haven't had ONE DVD that it couldn't handle! some movies are just bad presses! I'm lucky that my DVD player can read even the most damaged disks and it's not tempermental at all! MOVIES27 has yet to mention what movie he/she was trying to backup!
Stallyn...... check your other thread...... I responded!

@IHoe
DVD Decryptor is a good program but how can a program be top dog when it is no longer updated.

Decrypter may not have updates but it still working on all disks for me. Not only that but it does more than just rip, it burns and it is the best for a dual layer backup. You can use it as an info tool to find out about your drive, all you have to do is click on check for firmware updates and it will find them for you. It is a very versatile program. And until something comes along that can beat it, I will still keep as my number one.

just because DVDD is not updated anymore doesn't mean it's not working! It's working FLAWLESSLY! I must agree with everything that Arnie said. DVDD is King-of-the-Hill and there are no others out there that does a job like DVDD! It can even Booktype! It does so much and still rips everything out there, new or old..... and it doesn't change the files as it rips like others do! I used DVDFabDecrypter and I noticed that the file size changes as compared to the original disk! DVDD doesn't do that! If you want an exact copy of your DVD, then DVDDecrypter does the job! And it's easy to use and MORE!

I think when in file mode you can right click on a file and select stream processing command. Then you have the option to Demux. I have never used it, but it's there.
Yeah, I have to agree, DVD Decrypter is still the best. When I was backing up my system, Nero or Roxio were not recognizing my burner, but DVDD had no problems. I was using it to burn CD images that Nero and Roxio could not.
Also, it will remain the king for the remainder of current gen DVDs. Even if a new protection comes out that DVDD will not be able to handle, it will still do 99% of all movies released. So far, I have not had to use anything other than DVDD & Shrink.

@Movies27
The Adult Movies can cause problems they are not made with the best of materials (doesn't mean the actors/actresses :o
Believe me I sincerely don't believe the Adult Movie Industry has found a protection that is better than the regular Movie Industry. Probably the only protection on the disk is Macrovision. It is just damaged. I have had this happen with several series disks from the UK I have returned them and gotten another and they play fine.

@ arniebear it seems to be only 1 brand(company) that i'm having problems with...all other dvd'seem to be no problem. i even tried other titles from the same company and i still run into the same problem..i guess they used very poor media but the discs are never scratched or dirty though.

When you run it through Decrypter what protection does it say it has, is it using keys to decrypt or does it say N/A. I still think it is media, could be some company that uses a duplicator with really bad media.

i dont have the disc with me now but i will have it later today...basically it looks like a burnt disc not a actual store copy(if you know what i mean).so i even tried turning AnyDVD off & just doing a regular disc copy using Nero but still no go.

The Adult movies are weird to back-up sometimes, because they have lot's of different titles,if they're DVD9, I have seen it works if you split the titles between 2 DVD5 discs. I have had success with this procedure. If the original is a DVD5, just do a Full Clone. Works great!
Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

I agree that adult movies can be in low quality media. Usually stuff that is like 7 hours or whatever, will be lower budget and harder to copy.
Did you try a normal burning program like Nero? These things usually have no copy protection at all. Also, can you browse the DVD in windows explorer? If so, you can always drag and drop. If it is copy protected, you can have AnyDVD running in the background.

Yes i tried copying it with Nero and even turning AnyDVD off....but i just downloaded a free trial Intervideo dvd copy and it copied the whole movie!!!!!! i'm still shocked all the other programs i tried (nero,shrink,decryptor,dvd cloner,clone dvd,and dvd 95 copy)didnt work or would either just freeze up all together..Intervideo just gained a new customer ..I will be going to bestbuy to buy me a hard copy of this amazing software..it worked where the others failed!!!

Did you have AnyDVD running because if not there was no protection on the DVD. Because Intervideo does not rip copy protected DVD's.
