Hi all,

Well, I have an HP PSC 2175. Latley I've been ordering remanufactured catridges and have not have a problem using them. My question(s)is/are: If I re-fill the cartridges myself, is there a way to get my printer to see them as full again? I found an item that is a cartridge resetter for Epson printers but nothing for HP.

Also, does anyone have any idea how these little companies who refill and sell these cartridges are able to make them like new again? Meaning, so the printer see's the cartridge as "full"?

Thanks for any help!

epson is different from hp so don't worry about it. as long as for that hp & not universal type ink than shouldn't have a problem refilling.

i don't have a problem refilling the cartridge, but after i do that, and I put the cartridge back into the printer, the printer does not show the cartridge as being full again.

how are the companies who re-fill the hp cartridges able to make the cartridge read as "full" again?

It is all in the chip that is on the cartridge. It is actually a date stamp, so long as you are not beyond the expiration date of the cartridge, you could possibly do it yourself and not have problems.

I have 3 high end HP printers, and my advice is to use genuine HP ink cartridges. I feel no pity for folks who have problems with their printers, due to troubles with refilled cartridges. That is just my opinion.

Axlman, how many cartridges do you go through in a year?

Honestley, I couldn't say! Only a couple I guess, but that's cuz I'm not rich enough to keep buying more cartridges, so I kinda try to keep my printing to a minimum

I go through about 1 set a year, also. I get authentic HP cartridges, so I don't have to worry about the printer having problems. Expensive? Not when you consider the possibility of replacing or getting the printer repaired, due to faulty cartridges.
