Hi there,

I personally use: AnyDVD, DVDShrink, burn with VSO CopyToDVD

After reading several threads, here's what is popular:

A) DVD Decrypter with DVD43 in the background to RIP
B) DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD in the background to RIP

DVDShrink is popular, cause it does a good job and it's FREE.

To burn, most people use DVD Decrypter (.ISO Write) and Nero.

ON THE FLY:

I heard that AnyDVD and CloneDVD is a very good combination to copy DVD on the fly, which I have never done.

Does that cover the majority of the people ?

My 2 cents...

Try AnyDVD in background, then NeroRecode. Burning will start automatically. Reduces a three step process to fidling with only one program. Everything else is automatic.

I use DVD Decryptor and Nero Recode2 myself (AnyDVD if I have problems with Decryptor)

I use DVD Decryptor cause its just my prefrence to have Nero Recode read off the hard drive instead of the DVD drive less chance off errors and saves your drive life.

but what StanH1000 said is parlty right you can set Nero Recode to burn after transcoding to save steps but you can also set up DVD Shrink to do it as well.

So it really just comes down to prefrence on what you like yourself. I use Nero Recode 2 cause I also use Nerovision Express for changing AVI files to DVD menued movies. So I just prefer to have Nero installed without DVD Shrink.

So do testing on diffrent types of programs and find the 1 that you like best.

IMHO, for those who are just starting off (such as myself): Decrypter and Shrink do the job. More importantly...they're free!

Also, if you have Nero bundled in with your PC, "the circle is complete", so to say.

People are entitled to their own judgment, so it all boils down to preferences and experiences. Below is what I prefer as in order.

01) DVD Decrypter and Nero Recode 2 and backup with Nero Burning Rom
02) DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink and backup with Nero (remains one of the best combo afterall)
03) DVD43 or DVDIdle Pro (cracking engine) with InterVideo DVD Copy 3
