if the hd has been partitioned & formated than boot up on the win98 bootdisk & select #1:cdrom support. if e: is the cdrom according to the bootdisk than type at the a: prompt e: & enter. at the e:prompt type setup, enter & windows will start installing. thing to remember is that windows might not have all the drivers for the laptop.

I do try to help folks every once in awhile, if I can. But it is damned near impossible to read a long post that has no punctuation and no capital letters, where they belong, at the beginning of sentence.

Do you people learn anything in school?

mplshowie, that was a no no to a senior member. if you read GrandpaBW's sig, he is also a lot older than you & about 10-20 over me! you can use caps at the begining of each sentence, just not the whole post!

You answered my question. You must be pretty young.

@ddp: Thanks for the last post. As for the language not being native English, I realize that that may be the case in some instances, but obvioulsy not, here.

If you read posts by folks, who's native language is not English, the words in the sentence are not always in the correct order. However, I have rarely seen those posts contain 12 separate sentences in one paragraph, with no punctuation or capitalization of the first letter of a new sentence.

when booting off the win98 boot disk, you have a # of drives. a:floppy, c:hd, d:ram drive & e: is your cdrom drive. when the boot disk loads, it tells you what letter the rom drive is. the d:ramdrive & e:cdrom drive is temporary til windows finishes loading than the cdrom becomes d:
