I recorded a movies from TV and want to write it on a VCD, WITHOUT the advertisements.

I tried Tmpgenc, VCDcutter, but both cut approximately. I can use Sonic Foundry vegas, but then adding subtitles using virtualdub filters will be a no no.

Any suggestion how to precisely remove the ads?

If they were avis it would have been so easy to load them into Virtualdub and just delete the adds!

The videos are not avi but VCD compliant mpeg which is opening in virtualdub.

Do you mean that virtualdub can cut and remove parts of a video from between? if yes, how?

Also, does virtualdub cut exactly where intended?

I ask becuase TMPGenc cuts as per the GOP structure. So when i cut from the frame where an ad starts, mostly i find a few secnods of ad in the final movie :(

I would think that having vdub in 'full processing mode' for video would allow for editing on non-I-frames. If such a limitation still exists, how about frameserving the mpg file using Avisynth into vdub? I would think that it would overcome any editing limitations due to GOP structures.

Thanks! will try frameserving from avisynth today.

BTW can virtualdub cut and remove a video section from between? Or can it only cut a video in two parts? it would be nice if i could just select the section containing the ad and it is removed leaving the movie without the ad.

It can remove frames in between. Look at the line of buttons at the end on vdub, the last two mean, start selection and end selection, anything selected between them could easily be deleted by clicking edit - delete selection!

NOTE, after you have deleted the ad, make sure that your audio is still in sync at the start and end of the file before you save!
