how come you don't have firewall....ALL windows xp p.c's have windows firewall.
first try disabling all firewalls and see if you can get better speeds.
if not, try Azureus. its another client like bitlord and i recommend it because i have the 1 meg like you and, like you, i had slow dloads on bitlord whereas now im getting 125+ on Azureus.
lastly. check how many seeds you are getting when you download because really, you will only hit optimum speeds on around 60 realistically
let me know if you need anymore assistance.

Do you mean putting the ulpload speed at 12/13 KB/s?
For that member, that was %80 of his overall downlaod speed and 80 percent is known as the sweet spot for torrent downloading, it doesnt clog your bandwith and allows for the best downloading speeds.

Ughhh my download speed is 1024kps with the online test thing. And my upload speed is 219kps. In bitcomet 0.57 its doing like 9kbs. How can I make it go faster? My upload speed is at 13kb and my download speed is at unlimited.

helloyoda,
You should raise your upload to about 20 or so, to do the math youreslf....divide the Max upload by 8 and then multiply by .8
darth maul,
isthat a question or a statement?

If you infintie the upload you will have very slow downloads as all your bandwith is going into uploading and clogging the network for downloading.

Darthmaul,
With Dial Up youll be lucky to get 2-3 KB/s, bittorent was created for people with dsl at the MINIMUM, but more for cable and t1 users.
Helloyoda,
First try updating to Bitcomet .59
With your ok bandwith you should get average 50-60 KB/s download if there are enough seeds and if you upload at 20 KB/s.
As a test, find the torrent with the MOST seeds you can find and the least amount of leechers and then wait ten minutes while it is downloading and then post how fast your downloading.

I like bitcomet better because you can add your tracker list and Azureus is a memory hog :)
