Do you know how to compress mp3 files to make them smaller? I was trying to burn the eminem- encore cd. It has 23 tracks and is more than 80 minutes. I'm trying to fit all the songs onto one disc.

how does compressing the mp3 files to make them smaller have to do with fitting them on one disk? If you're attempting to create an audio CD from mp3 files, the audio CD is based on limitations of time, not based on the original file sizes. In other words if you have a file at 192 kbps, and that same file at 128kbps, they're going to be the same size when you put them on an audio CD.

Further more, re-encoding compressed audio files SEVERELY reduces their quality. Imagine making a copy of a copy of a VHS tape...each generation gets worse. But if you must, use dBPowerAMP.

But like I said above, compressing the mp3s won't solve your problem of trying to put more than 80 mins of audio on an audio CD. You do have a few options though. First, if it is only a few minutes over 80, most new burners and burning apps (like nero) support over-burn, allowing you to add approx. five extra minutes onto a CD. But beware this can damage your burner if done improperly.

Another easier option is to simply buy 90 minute CDRs. (Yup, they do make them.) They're not much more expensive than standard CDRs either. You can find them at http://www.allmediaoutlet.com

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

Well, the Encore CD only has 20 tracks! The Deluxe version has 23. The 3 bonus tracks are on a separete disc. So just burn the CD then burn the bonus tracks on a different disc.
