Ok, i bought a 250 GB SATA Hard drive to build my comp. I installed it last week and everything went right except this. This is the problem. When i turn my computer on, the motherboard says it is a 250 GB but after the comp loads, I go into "my computer" and it shows the hard drive as 130 GB. Also when i was installing XP on it, it showed me i only had 130 GB left as well. This was a brand new computer i built and everything was brand new. My motherboard is a ASUS A8N-Sli and my hard drive is a hitachi 250 GB SATA. Thanks if you have any advice

It's probably the bios just reading that hard drive at that amount.Go to asus and update bios.

Is it crap or is it memorex?

i had a similar problem with an 80 gb hd recognized as a 31 gb hd it gave me a lot of headaches but finally i fixed with the "maxtor power tool" it checks you hard drives and then you just had to choose how many gigas do you want to use. like i had 31 gb then i just did choose that i want to use all the gigas in my case 80. the better thing its that the software is free. i saved like 60 dollars.

Thanks
