They only evidence they need is the evidence that your IP adress downloaded something from them, or they were able to downlaod something you shared and thats it. You could break your PC with a bat and then say you never owned one, doesnt matter.

You can trace it yourself using WhoIs or they can just ask your ISP.

Not all but some ISP's cooperate with the RIAA or MPAA, and might hand over the info linked with your IP adress. The information can also be subpoenaed, if the RIAA has moved against you in a lawsuit.

If your fish seems sick, put it back in the water.

Here's a quick question! If I have a wireless router, and I haven't set up the WEP does that mean that my neighbors can get my signal and use programs like limewire to download illegal stuff? Meaning there using my IP address with my wireless router? is it possible? Thanks!

Your broadband modem has its own id that it reports back to the ISP with so no matter what IP address is coming from it they still no what costumer is using there intenet. so if your neibors were using your wireless bandwith and downloading music you would still get sued for it.

Yes, they do. That is how people get caught. Also sharing puts you at HIGH risk.

The RIAA was good for flooding Kazaa with bad files. You can also try peer guardian. It blocks all the known IP's from the RIAA from accessing your PC. I havn't heard of anyone getting busted using that program, but that doesnt mean it hasn't happened. Good Luck
