I hope someone can help me with this. This morning after rebooting my machine, my dvd rw drive disappeared. It is a sony dru-720a and has been working fine for the past 4 months. It doesn't show at all on my computer or on my control panel/system. I had saved a job in nero to reboot and then when I logged back in the drive was gone. I hope someone has an idea for me. The drive does open so I know it has power ect..
Thanks for your help regarding this. I actually found the problem, I had done all the software diagnosing I could, so I tore into the computer and the cable at the back of the drive was loose, I plugged it in properly and bingo the drive was back. I didn't think this could have been a solution because the drive still had power to open but I guess who ever installed the drive only did a half assed job. Ill try better next time.
