hi, i have a Belkin 54g Wireless Internet. My router is Belkin. I have a built in Firewall. I do not know how to disable it. I am using Bitlord. My downloads take speeds of 2-7kb and uploads are 3-10. I am fed up, if u can help me, give me step by step instructions, that would be great .Thanks alot.

First, your PC will need to have a static IP assigned to it. Follow this tutorial if you haven't accomplished this already. http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm Click on your Operating System and follow the guide.

You will need to find out what ports your torrent client uses...I'm not sure about BitLord and www.portforward.com doesn't have any info on what it might be. There is a lot of info on that site (keep it handy). Maybe you could try using another Torrent Client (i.e. BitTornado, BitComet). Anyway, see what ports are normally used for the client you are using here: http://www.portforward.com/cports.htm. You could always search within aD to see what ports have given the best success for your client choice.

Once you know what ports to use open them in your PC's firewall and then forward them to your router. The first part of my tutorial will help you through that process. How To Open Ports and Forward them to your Router: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/223583

To know exactly how to forward those ports to your router, go here: http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm. Select the specific model of Belkin you have and then follow the tutorial. It should be the third selection beneath "Guides for the Belkin (model # here)"

Restart your PC and you should be good to go.
