Is there a program that I can use to check if my DVD was burned right, to see if there are any errors?.. I've just burned a dvd, and in the beginning it skips a bit, but when i take it out and put it back in, it's fine! Or, if I take it to another standalone player, it plays fine, I want to know if it's the burn, or the player that's doing that..

If you have a lite-on DVD-RW,you can download the Kprobe utility to check for PIE/PIF errors on your backups.

If not, you can use dvdinfopro to check for PIE/PIF errors. You can download it here:
http://www.dvdinfopro.com/

It can be a screwy site sometimes. Look for the free version.

You can also use Nero speed test if you have Nero.

What's your burner model#?
What brand name/format/and speed rate is your media?
How fast did you burn them?
Do you multi-task during dvd backup process?
Do you use paper/stick on labels?

Dvdinfopro will also ID your blank discs for the MID code.

Hi there,

I also use VSO Inspector v1.1, and do a "Sector by Sector" and a File Scan to see if my media is 100% read error free.

If you already have DvdInfoPro, do a Media CRC Scan, which is the same thing :)

Just stating the obvious, but if it's not the media, it's probably the stand alone player. Specifically, dust blocking the lense. Keeping the lense clean usually prevents skipping.

Just a thought.
