I work for a large company with hundred of employees. Recently, I discovered the Administrator password for all access into our systems. So, I did what any devious employee would do: I downloaded a Bittorrent client. I use Azureus at home also, and I have an intermediate understanding of how it operates. However, I cannot seem to get any ports to open at the office. Windows allows for the port to open, but Azureus does not recognize any of the changes that I make. The same errors always comes up after testing it. I get the same old symptoms, slow download speeds, etc. I've read the forums, FAQs, and university woes which seem to match my issues. But since I actually can DO something, what should I do and how do I go about it?

The network that your work is linked up to is blocking all ports except the ones it needs to use.

Either that or it's using a firewall.

I think that I have figured that much out already. What I am looking for is an answer on how to fix this problem. How does one go about opening up the ports?

Well, you'll need to find out what kind of method it's using to block the ports first. Ie. If its a firewall, youll have to find it, open it, and configure it to open the ports.
