Decrypter doesn't create .bup and ts files usinf IFO mode that nero needs to burn the movie, so what is the point of IFO mode?

I have looked all over the net and can't find crap about this...

Anyone? Is there anyway to create a bup and ts file so it will work?

I can't find any other way to seperate FS and WS versions on Ice Age (they are 2 seperate VTS groups), and to seperate episodes on band of brothers dvds (which are seperate PGC's within the same VTS grouping)... and I DON'T want to use shrink.

I try "retain angle 1 (etc) VOBs" in decrypter but it just ends up decrypting them all.

I can't deselect one of the different ratios in RB either.

I am at the end of my rope.... I thought I had this figured out so I can burn these difficult to seperate DVDs, and I am starting to go insane with the absolutely disgusting amount of hours I am/have been spending looking all of it up, and to no avail.

Download the trial versions of AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2. In CloneDVD you can uncheck the version you don't want along with any extras and trailers you don't need. Then let CloneDVD burn whats left.

@marlin, I'm with Jerry 746, I have used avariety of progs., especially separating the widescreen and fullscreen or the multiple episode of B.O.B.. I typically use Shrink, easy to edit with the clip mode, but CloneDVD 2 does a good job of this as well. They have a scissors mode that allows you to clip the credits, which loosens the space for better picture quality. I did the B.O.B...using shrink, editing the intro (not knocking the commentary but I was wanting to have seamless transition from one episode to anaother. shrink did a good job. You can also use Dvd Remake to edit the different versions as well. I believe VOB Blanker can do this, just not as familiar with this program as I am with shrink, clondvd3, and recode 2... I also like DVD2One...great prog. in combing multiple episodes, two sided dvds and make one seamless (or non-seamless) movie for burnign to single layer (dvd5) or dual layer(dvd9). Hope this helps. Clonddvd2 can be downloaded from www.slysoft.com.

Use VobBlanker to "Blank" out the unwanted video streams. - http://www.videohelp.com/~jsoto/guides/VobBlanker/blanking/index.php

Edit: I just did "Monsters Inc." and blanked out the "Full Screen" version and only left the "Widescreen" version. It then opened up in DVD Shrink with only %90.9 compression. Where before that, it opened the disc up with %54 compression.

I've had no problem using the IFO mode in Decrypter. In the input menu, select the VTS folder with the episodes etc... in it, and then you can select the individual PGC you want to extract, you can even select down to various chapters. Once the files are extracted just use NeroVision express to make it into a DVD. Works a treat!

Thanks for all the responses guys!!!!.... as always, I am curious... do CloneDVD and AnyDVD alter the video at all like Shrink does? As that was the reason I liekd Decrypter so much, because I knew I was getting a pefect 100% 1:1 copy.

webhedreg,

I don't get it... that what I have been doing... it rips fine... but then I use either Nero Burning ROM or Nero Express and it says it's missing .BUP files and one other file.

Is Nero Vision the same as plain Nero? Can you maybe explain step by step how you do that with decrypter? maybe I am skipping a step, or maybe I don't have a certain setting enabled?

Nero Vision Express is not the same as Nero Burning ROM, it takes the files you get from Decrypter and compiles them correctly to make a DVD. If you try and use Burning ROM it will fail as you are finding. You can download the Vision express and it will probably work with the code you have already installed for Nero. The steps are: make DVD, add video files, then follow steps to make menu page etc... Once you load it up, you will see how easy it is, if not PM me.

As far as AnyDVD, it does not alter the DVD files at all. It will merely remove any copy protection and region coding, before the other software such as Decrypter sees it. Instead of relying on Decrypter to remove these, it is done already, and as such the newer protections that Decrypter etc... can't handle, will also be removed. You can also use Nero tools with this, as the DVD no Longer appears as copy protected. Another tool I use to seperate cells is Vstrip, but I now mainly use Recode or RB. P.S. Recode is also 64 bit ready unlike some other tools which will never get updated, and as it was written by the same guy who made Shrink, it is pretty similar but has improved encoding. P.P.S. It obviously needs some application such as AnyDVD to make the most of its potential.

Decrypter can only give you a 1 to 1 copy if you use dual layer blanks. If you are using the normal single layer blanks you will never have a 1 to 1 copy unless the original is a small single layer movie. Most dvd movies these days are dual layer and need compressed to fit the single layer blanks. Only other choice is to split to 2 discs.

I have a similar concern as [/webhedreg], if you have a movie file that is say 3.5gb and you are copying from one disc to another are you going to get a 100% 1:1 copy using decrypter. There is lots of talk on the forums about using rebuilder and CCE etc. to acomplish the same thing with better quality results. What is the best way to get a 100% 1:1 copy?

If the total file size is 4.3 gig or less you probably can get a 1:1 copy. Any files over that size need compressed to fit a single layer blank. It doesn't matter which programs you use it still needs compressed. Some programs compress with better quality than others but it still won't be a 1:1 copy unless burned to a dual layer blank where no compression is needed.

Thanks Jerry for clearing that up, I understand that with any compression you will not get a 1:1 copy.
