DVD X Copy.........

It took me about 45 min to copy to the HD, and only another 45-50 min to burn on DVD-R. Works flawlessly. DVD+R though seems to not work in alot of standalone DVD Players. DVD-R work in majority of them. Hopes this helps. I just got a DVD Burner and after reading alot of forums, I went with DVDXCopy. It costs about $100.00 but, well worth it. It does it all for you.

it all depends on what hardware and software you're using. i use nero...their latest update works flawlessly. if these are dvd's you've created, it's easy...tell me what you're using. mike

you want to copy a dvd to another dvd. its not that simple. is it a copywrited commercial dvd you purchased or one that you made from home movies...big differnce? if its one you bought then its dual layered and cannot be copied directly to one dvd disc. if its one you made with dvdx copy thats another story! if its one you've created that's easy! be specific...what exactly are you talking about? which movie?

i forgot..you can copy to one disc using dvdx copy if it'll fit. the entire dvd has to be less than 4.7 gigs. dvdx copy doesn't rip anything, it merely duplicates the dvd onto 2 dvd's. if you want to compress it to one dvd instead of 2 you'll need to get DVD2one...and it works beautifully....www.dvd2one.com

Almost every DVD on the market now is a DVD-9 (dual-layer - about 9 gb), while the DVD-R you can burn are DVD-5 (4,36 Gb). Sometimes the movie and 1 audio track fit in 4,36 gb without further re-encoding, but it seldom happens. And also in this case you have to rip the mpeg and the audio from the original DVD and then re-author (at least remux and recreate the vob structure) the m2v and the ac3 files.

DVDXCOPY does a (almost) perfect backup of a DVD, but of course you'll need 2 DVD-R. Anyway you can try to remove parts non needed (like specials, trailers etc.) from the main window of DVDXCOPY and sometimes (expecially for cartoons) you manage to make your copy fit in just 1 DVD-R.
