I have been experimenting with various programs but cant find something that can put 2 halves of a film which are 700mb each onto one dvd. i tried joining them but the quality was severely reduced for some reason. basically alot of my films are 1.36gb and in the folder are 2 700mb files which i want to burn to 1 dvd as theres no point wasting 2 dvd's for 1 film. any help on programs i could use? cheers

What format are the two halves in and what burning software do you use?

If your DVD Home Player can play AVI files then:

open up nero and creat a DVD data disc and bring the 2 halves of the movie in. Make sure that the first part of the movie is brought in first and listed first. Burn it.

Now when you play it in your DVD player a menu will come up with the 2 files listed. choose the first part of the file to play and it should automaticly continue to the next file without stopping. At least that is how i do it on my DVD Home player.

I don't know which program you used to join your files together but I would suggest using virtual dub to splice the two together then use vso's divx2dvd to convert it into a single dvd (actually it will turn it into a video_ts type folder that you'd burn from there but thats splitting hairs).Use the 0.5 version of divx2dvd unless you want an ad at the top of the movie. I have done this several timeswith files of equal or greater size and it works great.
