First let me say I own the CD I'm trying to copy. I'm trying to make a backup copy for the car. I bought it this past Tuesday and it has a copyright protection that I can't seem to bypass. I've never seen this before. I tried duping the CD directly to another CD and the songs came out all distorted. I tried ripping the songs from the CD and converting them to mp3's, wav's, and WMA Lossless files, but I had the same problem. In all the years I've been burning CD's, this is the first time I've encounter such tough copyright protection on an audio disc.

Here are some of the programs I've used to burn the disc and/or convert the files:

For Ripping I tried:

- Audio Converter & Ripper v4.1
- Audiograbber v1.83
- ImTOO CD Ripper v1.0.33.908
- Windows Media Player

For Burning I tried:
- Nero Ultra v6.6
- Roxio Media Creator Platinum #7
- CloneCD v5.1.0.0

I have 2 burners in my computer and neither of these have worked:
- Plextor PX-716A
- Sony DRU710A

This is the first time I haven't been able to successfully rip a CD. How frustrating! Man, I've been doing this for years. Stupid copywrite protection. The kicker is, I am the legitimate owner of the CD. I normally burn all my CD's so I can carry the burnt copy in the car and leave the original at home. What a crock of shit.

If you guys could help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

I can't update CloneCD because when I tried, it figures out it is a bootlegged copy and I'm automatically downgraded to "trial version" :(

What CD is it? What company produced it? Was it BMG/Tri-Star-Columbia/Sony?

If it was Sony then try following these steps:

weazel200....I haven't tried that program. I've never heard of it. I'll download it right now and try. Thanks.

diabolos....(don't make fun of me for my musical tastes - lol)
- It's Bon Jovi's brand new CD "Have A Nice Day"
- It's a Dual Disc (one side is a regular CD, the other side is a DVD with extras on it)
- Island Records is the record label

Here's a link to the CD itself (if you need more info about it):

You can use Exact Audio Copy to rip the tracks to MP3 not to actually made a copy of the CD.

Hum, When you insert the CD in the CD-Rom drive does it ask you to accept any software agreements?

Nope, not at all. It's treated like a normal CD. No different. No software agreement no nothing.
