it's nice to see some effort going into reviving it etc. but with normal users not knowing what to do, many users switching to other p2p's PLUS the R*** could have it marked, what are the chances of getting winmx up and running again?

WINMX needs to survive or other p2p's will suffer the same fate. I have not been able to log on yet, but I will give it another try in a little while.

I wish it was easier to get more people involved.

It's not worth it. it's like trying to sell a dead donkey...not happening.

my view on p2p applications is that they are good while they last, but everything serves it's time & purpose.

out with the old, in with the new.

p2p will never die, it just evolves.

VLAD44 - thank you for the info on how to fix the non-connection. It works like a charm!
In addition to replacing the Hosts file, I had to flush DNS (as per your instructions) and reboot. Connected perfectly fine.

The workaround with the new hosts file works great, thanks to VLADD44! (and many others) Also thank you wrf01a for the info.

Right now I am just supporting the network on primary, with everyones participation maybe we can get it back to normal. Hope you all have a great Sunday!
