I'm new to burning. So please help me out on this one and tell me which is better to buy a DVD+R/WR or DVD-R/WR rom?

And what is better to burn on a DVD-r, DVD+R or DVD-/+WR desk?

HELP!!!

Well which of these is better? Or if you know of a better one under 100$ let me know...

Pioneer 16x Internal Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive
Model: DVR-509

OR

HP 16x DVD+/- Double-Layer LightScribe Drive, DVD640vi

All your input and help well be appreciated.

Thanks

I would recomend the BenQ 1640 cause it was copied by Plextor ... so you know they were doing somthing right if someone copyed them.

Get the one with "Light Scribe" as it allows professional laser etched labels on your discs. Be aware that special coated discs are required to burn the labels. I understand they are about a dime extra per disc than regular recordable discs.

I recommend the BenQ 1640 as well. I bought one based on the recommendations of people here, and after researching pretty thoroughly, concluded they were right. I am very pleased with it so far. Here is a good comparison of new DL drives. See for yourself.

By the way, at $40 from Newegg.com, how can you go wrong?!?
