Would using a proxy on a college campus help to increase the download speed? If so, how would i preform a proxy in:

1) Azureus
2) Limewire

By proxy, im guessing your meaning anonymous proxies?

Shouldnt make a difference, colleges block your bandwith and block ports so in azareus you will always have yellow smileys and not so fast downloads, believe me i know from experience :P

Assuming you are connected to a large LAN, download OurTunes to replace limewire.

Proxies are just middlemen, a server the data is sent to in between your isp and where ever the data originated, and vice versa. So proxies will never speed things up, just slow things down.

btw, anonymous proxies are a myth.
