i may be mving soon i have dial up npw and i was making sure dsl will be avaible if i do move well it seems its like right near the dsl limit but they said i could get dsl there but only the 128k package and that the 756k and the 1.5 meg packge plan i couldnt get just the 128k what i wanna know is why cant i get the high packages? is it cause the signal is weaker there?

Kind of, but the further away you are from a an exchange the more unreliable the transfer is... They can probly only get a reliable connection to you at 128k without any dropouts etc...

i guess it would be better than dial up my friend has the 128k package and it run halo 2 with like 14 or so people we didnt really try more than that the main reason i want it is for high speed gameing ill be able to save all the bandwidth all for gaming when i do game do you think it will run xbox and xbox 360 well?

I have had DSL for a long time, and the way it works is simply this:The speed you are able to get depends on several factors, mostly the distance you are from your Central Office or Remote, line quality & wire gauge. 18,000 feet is pretty much the limit in most cases. I'm 4000 feet from the office & I get 3 megs per second thoughput consistently.
